I stared at him, waiting for the joke. It didn\u2019t come.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not home,\u201d I said quietly. \u201cI\u2019m working. I\u2019m on calls. I\u2019m billing insurance. I can\u2019t do that and chase a toddler all day.\u201d<\/p>\n
He rolled his eyes. \u201cPeople have done it forever.\u201d<\/p>\n
